- The climb. A steep house above Franklin can mean a narrow street and a long way up from the garage, and that carry is in the text before you say yes.
- The stairs. A ground-floor apartment off La Brea Avenue is quick to reach, and a unit a few floors up takes longer, so please tell us your floor.
- The age of the building. A 1920s Spanish home and a newer apartment building aren't put together alike, and we read that from your wide shot.
- The pieces we bring. You see them named next to the price.

Questions about hanging, caulk and tenants
Can you hang pictures from just a photo of the wall?
Yes, if you lean the frames where you want them and take the whole wall. Tell us the size of the largest, and if you rent, get your landlord's OK for the holes.
My shower caulk is peeling. How close should I get?
Send one from the bathroom door and one from about a foot away. If the wall behind it looks wet or soft, the reply will tell you if it needs a plumber.
I own a building here. Do I have to go over to take the picture?
No, just forward us your tenant's photo. We price it the same way and can arrange the visit with them directly.

Spanish homes and bungalows from the 1920s
Please keep the door hardware and the trim in the shot, because they tell us more about the age of the room than the job itself does.
If the job is in the detached garage, send a picture from the driveway. For drywall and plaster repair, take the whole wall.
Older hillside homes in the Hollywood Hills
On these narrow, winding streets, we need a picture from the road showing the small garage and any steps up from it. It shows us the climb, which is what the access part of the price comes from.
