Handyman in Northridge

A handyman in Northridge can price most small repairs from one picture, so text yours to (310) 857-2520 and you will have the number within the hour. We cover the CSUN area, the streets off Tampa Avenue and Winnetka to the south.

Free to quote. Or text the photo to (310) 857-2520.

We need different photos from a postwar ranch house in Northridge than from a student rental or an apartment closer to the university.

Whichever you have, you don't need to be there for us to read it. A landlord can forward a tenant's picture from anywhere, and the reply comes back by text with the parts named.

What you get when you send a photo

  • A price within the hour. We text it back, or ask one question if the photo leaves one open.
  • The reply costs nothing. That is true whatever you send.
  • Open every day, 7am to 7pm. Most jobs go on a morning or an afternoon you pick, and they are done inside the week.
  • No surprises at the door. If what we find isn't what the photo showed, you hear it right there, before any work.
  • A year on our workmanship. If it comes loose, that visit is free.

Four Northridge jobs and how to take the picture

A desk or a bed frame in a flat box

If you are moving into a rental near CSUN, a desk or a bed frame that arrived flat is easy to price from a photo, like all our furniture assembly.

Photograph the label on each box and the room it is going into, and tell us which floor you are on.

Window screens on a ranch house

For a window screen replacement, we want to know how many there are and whether the frames are still straight. Our page on window and door screens covers both the mesh and the frame.

Open the window and shoot from inside the room, so that all four corners of the frame are in the picture. Then tell us how many windows you want done.

The door between the house and the garage

Most houses here have the garage attached, so the door between the two is the one that lets the Valley heat in once its weather stripping has worn out.

Shut the door and take the picture from inside, showing the edge where it meets the frame and the strip along the bottom. If you can see daylight, try to catch it in the shot.

Holes to patch before you move out

A rental can have a lot of small holes by the end of a lease, and drywall and plaster repair like that is easy to price once we see them all.

Hold a key beside the biggest hole so we can judge the size, then take one picture of each wall from across the room.

Once you have picked your morning or afternoon

  • We start in the room you named. In a rental with several small jobs, we work through them in the order you numbered them.
  • We look at the job next to your photo. If something is different from the picture, you hear it before any work starts.
  • Your tenant can be the one at home. If you are the landlord, we can arrange the visit with them directly.
  • The room is clean when we go. The clean-up was in the price text.

What makes a Northridge price go up or down

  • The ranch house wall. Ranch house walls are usually quick to read from a picture, and we ask if one isn't.
  • The walk in. A large lot or an upstairs apartment on Reseda Boulevard means a longer carry, and the text tells you so.
  • New parts. A new screen, a strip of weather stripping or a door hinge is listed with the price, so you can see what you are paying for.
  • How much you send. Send everything at once and the reply prices it together, with any visit minimum stated in the text.

We explain more about how the price is set if you would like the detail.

Three things you might want to ask first

Can my tenant near CSUN be the one who takes the picture?

Yes, forward us your tenant's photo and we price it the same way, and then we can arrange the visit with them directly.

Will you mount a TV in a student rental?

Yes, once your landlord has said OK to the holes. For TV mounting, send a picture of the whole wall with the outlet in it and tell us the TV size.

Do you come as far as Winnetka?

Yes, it gets the same reply from the same number, and your cross streets tell us where you are.

Ranch houses, rentals and apartments: what each photo should show

Ranch houses off Tampa Avenue and Lindley Avenue

Get the wall and the floor together in one shot. If the house sits on one of the larger lots and the job is out back, add a picture from the driveway so we can see how far we walk.

Student rentals in the CSUN area

A rental can have several small jobs at once, so send one picture of each and number them in the text. Tell us who will be home, because that is who we arrange the visit with.

Apartments along Reseda Boulevard

Please give us the floor and the gate code. If there is a building manager who wants a heads-up before work starts, we can time the visit around that.

Winnetka, to the south

Take the picture the same way you would in Northridge, with the whole wall in it. If the house leaves us guessing, the one question we send back will be about the house and not the job.

From the 118 Freeway down to Winnetka, text your picture to (310) 857-2520 and the price is back within the hour.

You can send us a photo from Van Nuys too.

Point your phone at it. We'll text back a price within the hour.

Free to quote, for anything on this page and most things that aren't.
