Handyman in Santa Monica
A photo is all a handyman in Santa Monica needs to give you a price, so text it to (310) 857-2520 and the reply comes back within the hour. We work with owners, renters and landlords from North of Montana to the Pico Neighborhood.
Free to quote. Or text the photo to (310) 857-2520.
So much of Santa Monica is apartments and condos that the first thing we look for in a photo is what kind of building you are in. A unit with a carport and an older bungalow on an alley get different questions from us.
If you own the building and your tenant has the problem, you don't have to go over there. Forward us your tenant's photo, and we price it the same way and can arrange the visit with them directly.
What you get when you send a photo
- A price within the hour. We text it back, or ask one question if the photo leaves one open.
- The reply costs nothing. That is true whatever you send.
- Open every day, 7am to 7pm. Most jobs go on a morning or an afternoon you pick, and they are done inside the week.
- No surprises at the door. If what we find isn't what the photo showed, you hear it right there, before any work.
- A year on our workmanship. If it comes loose, that visit is free.

What we look for in a Santa Monica building
Apartments and condos Downtown and in Wilshire Montana
Take the picture of the job as usual, and then tell us the floor and how far your door is from the carport. That tells us how far the tools have to travel.
If the job is on a wall you share with the next unit, mention that too, since it can change what we do on that wall.
Older homes in the Pico Neighborhood
If yours is one of the older bungalows, Spanish homes or Craftsman homes, get the door casing or the window trim into the shot along with the problem. Old woodwork tells us more about the job than a tight close-up can.
When the house has a detached garage on an alley, add a picture from the alley so we can see the way in.
Larger homes North of Montana
A bigger house can mean a longer walk from one job to the next, so tell us which room each photo was taken in and which floor it is on.
If you have several small jobs, send them together in one text, and the reply lists them with the parts for each.
How the price gets back to you
- Send the picture to (310) 857-2520 with your cross streets, say Pico Boulevard and the side street you are on.
- We reply within the hour between 7am and 7pm, any day. You get a price, or one question if we need to know more.
- If the price suits you, pick a morning or an afternoon.
- On that day we check the job against your photo before we start anything.
Our page on how it works says this at more length, and how the price is set covers what goes into it.
What a visit is like in a Santa Monica home
- Your floors stay covered. Shoe covers go on before we step inside, and a cloth goes down under the work.
- Your tenant doesn't have to wait on you. We can set the time with them directly once you have said yes.
- Nothing changes without your OK. If we find something the photo didn't show, you hear it right there.
- We clean up after ourselves. That part is already in the price.
Four Santa Monica jobs worth a photo
Window screens close to the beach
For a window screen replacement, open the window and shoot the frame from inside. Near Ocean Avenue or Pacific Coast Highway, add a close-up of a corner, since salt air gets at the frame as well as the mesh on window and door screens.
A draft under the door
For weather stripping on an outside door, shut the door and take the picture from inside, with the strip down the side and the threshold both showing. Near Main Street or anywhere close to the beach, keep the metal threshold in the picture, because it can need replacing too.
Furniture for a small apartment
Photograph the label on the box and the spot where the piece is going, with the floor around it, because we need room to put it together. Our page on furniture assembly lists what we build.
Holes to patch between tenants
Walk through the unit and take one picture of each wall that has holes, with something for scale beside the largest. For drywall and plaster repair, that is usually all we need.
Questions from renters and landlords
I rent my apartment. Can I send the photo myself?
Yes, the reply costs nothing, so send it first and then check with your landlord about any holes before you book.
I own several units. Can I send them all?
Yes, send each unit in its own text with the address, so that each price stays with the right place.
Is a long walk to my door part of the price?
It can be, because the access is. If the job is a long walk from the street, the text says so before you say yes, and a picture of the way in helps us set it.
Text your picture to (310) 857-2520 any day between 7am and 7pm, and we will get the price back to you within the hour.
You can send us a photo from Venice, Brentwood or Pacific Palisades too.
Point your phone at it. We'll text back a price within the hour.
